Hello! I’m Sarah and I have over a decade of experience as a successful marketer specializing in branding and storytelling. During the pandemic, I found (along with so many others) that the hands-on approach I valued in my work with my clients wasn’t possible and I missed it terribly.

I then thought of my grandparents, who spent over 30 years as a surgeon and nurse team running a hospital in a remote part of Northern India. I remembered their stories of healing and service and decided to pursue one of those “back of the mind” job ideas and attain a degree in nursing, which I did in just 13 months. I quickly discovered a love for critical care nursing and caring for the sickest of the sick and have spent the last few years at the bedside in a busy ICU.

While at the bedside, however, I couldn’t stop thinking about the many patient experiences and stories I have had the honor to have a front row seat to. There is something humbling about getting a first-hand account from patients (not to mention my fellow nurses and providers) even as they might be living some of the worst experiences of their lives. I realized I had unprecedented access to understand, empathize with and ultimately translate both the patient and clinician experience in a way many marketers can’t.

But don’t just take my word for it…studies show that patient narratives told by patients not only lend credibility to the providers who healed them but also have the ability to persuade and influence. If healthcare organizations can tell the right story at the right time, they have the power to save lives and could, quite literally, change the world.

I want to be that person who helps you save lives—and not just with quality chest compressions (though I can do that too!). Let’s work together to find the right message, the right images and the right words to convey the good work you do to the world.
